Nortons Upgrade calls

I am getting recorded calls from 800 266 2278 saying it is Xfinity and I need to press 1 to talk to a technical officer about a Norton’s upgrade. Is this real or a scam/phishing call?

Exactly what are these calls in regards to your upgrading - Norton Interent Security to Norton Secuirity Online or regardless of which of the before moentioned one you have to upgrade to Norton 360?  The more info you can provde the better we can try to get an answer.

Re: Nortons Upgrade calls

All I know is what I said. I do not press one to talk to someone as if it ia a phisohjng call that's exactly they want me to do. My question is really does Xfinity ever make these sort of un solicited automated calls to customers regarding any sort of upgrade (Norton's or otherwise)?

I'm getting this from 800-934-6489. "Dear user. This is an important call from Comcast. We are in the process of upgrading your Norton Security Suite. For your free security upgrade please press one to speak with our technical officer now. Thank you."

800-934-6489 is just 800-Xfinity. (The number the OP reported is just 800-Comcast.)  Unfortunately, the company almost never chimes in to say whether these calls are valid or not. I suspect the calls are from scammers who are using a false caller ID.

If you have the previous "Norton Security Suite" and need to upgrade to the current "Norton Security Online", see https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Anti-Virus-Software-Internet-Security/NEW-Norton-Security-Online-and-H....
