Captions/subtitles behind menus and guide, not in front.

Fairly straightforward question: When I'm navigating through various menus, or looking through the programming guide, and I have captions turned on, the captions appear in front of the guide/menu, and block a lot of viability. When I'm scrolling through the guide, I would really like to have the captions being the guide or menu. But I can't find an option for this. Can it be done?

captions are placed by the captioning agent and are part of the video. The menu system is covered by the caption text as designed. there is no adjustment to move the digital captioning. you can pause the video use the menu then unpause the video.
