Split 2.4 & 5 but my devices won’t connect

I have a new gateway. I split the 2.4 &  5 bands. I disabled the five in the six GHz and have a segregated 2.4 . Most of my devices will connect to the 2.4 but I have two that will not. How do I get these two to Connect? a technician said I need a wireless router, if I purchase that & I put the gateway in Bridge mode, do I have to reconnect every single device in my home? Why can’t these devises connect?  The upgraded gateway is causing more problems & costing more $$$

Thanks for posting on our community forums, user_70h1pl. I'm sorry to hear about the devices not connecting to the 2.4 GHz band properly. This is not the experience we would like you to have, and we'd like to help. What kind of modem do you have? Is it our Xfinity Gateway?

Yes your gateway, split into 2.4 band I had to buy a deco wireless router put into 2.4 dedicated band & was able to hook up 1 device but the other will not. Now I need an extender !!

the new gateway from xfinity does not break out into dedicated 2.4 ghz that works

it is extremely frustrating & is going to cost me over $ 300!!!
