Having to restart modem multiple times in a day

What it says on the tin. I'm having insane internet issues lately - my net'll run fine for about 45 minutes to an hour before slowing down to the point of being unusable. Restarting from the app helps for the time, but I'm having to do it multiple times a day. My desktop is the only device I'm using on my WiFi, I live alone, there's nothing else connected besides a streaming box that I'm not using.

I cannot test an ethernet connection as I was told the only outlet set up for Xfinity is in my kitchen, and my desktop is in my room. My apartment is small, however, so distance should not be an issue - I can see my modem from where I'm sitting here typing this.
