Why have the app if I get redirected to the browser?

I have the email app Xfinity Connect which I can check my email through, however as of 3 months ago (yes I'm a little late on this sorry) when I got my new phone (Samsung S21+) I suddenly can't use the app any more, I've been getting redirected to the web based version through my Google Chrome web browser. I've checked and there's been no updates, then again my apps auto update. Either way, what's the point of having an email app if I'm going to get redirected to the browser to check my email. That's like having the Gmail app but then getting redirected to Google Chrome just to see what's in the Gmail app, it makes no sense. So what's going on?
