Retiring Xfinity Connect app

about how important it is to stay connected, then goes on to say you now have one less way to stay connected. I pay over $200 a month for Xfinity. Why can't they just keep the app going? Boooo Xfinity!

Constant reminders that app is finished April 20th. Is there really any need to rub salt in the wound like that? Had to reboot X1 3 times this week alone. Then called me after I gave them a bad review on their survey. I guess they don't appreciate honest feedback

If Comcast didn't alert us when we use the app that it will be going away, people would complain they weren't informed.  Now there's no excuse that we didn't know it was happening.

Obviously they're going to cover their own tails. They are being proactive to try to make you forget about what they're taking away.

Please do not get ride of this app it is so much easier to email thru. I have actually tried emailing on the site and it doesn’t work all that well. I use this connect app all the time as do many please do not discontinue this. It it way easier to check mail send emails with out having to get on the web page, many companies have apps like this too like yahoo gmail and many others I don’t see why you would get rid of an email app please leave this alone trust I’ll be calling in when this ends to complain, we don’t even have stream to go anymore we have to be on our own WiFi what’s this about dish you can go anywhere so to the board member who thinks this is a good idea you should be fired terrible idea at least let it available for those who have X1 I herby petition this plan that doesn’t have a replacement and requires us to go on the web which is very inconvenient for us all oh I will be requesting lower rates since it’s at my inconvenience and many others too how about removing the web connect page or your entire page doesn’t makes sense to do that and it doesn’t make sense to remove this connect app either

You should be able to use any email app you like to fetch your comcast.net email.

Why in heavens name would Xfinity retire the Xfinity Connect App?  I am extremely disappointed with this announcement.   Mobile apps are a preferred way of being able to interact with many types of accounts.  In my opinion this decision is a major step backwards for Xfinity.  I use the features of this app on a daily basis.  Away from home I can see who has called, get my voicemail. Unfortunately, this move continues to reinforce what seems to be their standard approach "charge you more, give you less".  My message to Xfinity: PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION, KEEP THE XFINTY CONNECT APP!

I am also very angry that xfinity is retiring their app! I check my ail frequently in my phone. This is going to be a hassle to go to a webpage instead of a 1 click app! Very disappointed in xfinity!

There are other email apps that you can use on your phone, e.g. Outlook for one, to access your Comcast email.

A year ago I was accessing my email on the website but your new mail page stopped updating for 5 days and your tech support couldn't figure out why.  So they told me to download and use Xfinity Connect instead.  I love this app.  It notifies me as soon as mail arrives.  Your website DOESN'T.   I have been a tv, internet and phone subscriber since 1994.  Please, please, please do NOT retire this app.

I use Connect multiple times a day. It keeps me organized without having to deal with a website on my smartphone. I pay over $200 per month for your service and you keep taking away products. First you took away Norton and now the email app. If your goal is get your customers to cancel your service you are reaching your goal. I don't know whose idea removing connect was but they should be fired. You are competing in a new landscape. Taking away benefits will not help you compete. I will be researching options to cut the cord. You have pushed me over the edge.

Comcast obviously doesn't care and are only interested in raising prices and making more money.  They apparently decided that having an app is not worth their time and expect users to use the clunky and slow browser interface, or try to set up the crappy phone email system.

Same here for looking to dump them, since they've raised my cable and internet price significantly and have no deals available for existing subscribers.

If I see one more "Stay Connected" commercial I think I may vomit!!!  They are NOT even TRYING to help people stay connected!!!  They are doing the exact opposite by taking AWAY the very thing I use to connect constantly - all day long!

Hello . Thank you for visiting and posting on our Forum. We appreciate your feedback about the sunset of the Xfinity Connect Mobile App. Please know that you will still be able to access your Comcast email, view and listen to your voicemail, and manage all your calling features and settings in the Xfinity Connect web portal (connect.xfinity.com).

The consumers who pay dearly for Xfinity services have no way to communicate to Xfinity their opinions of the discontinuation of the Connect App.

Does this discontinuation mean our Xfinity bill will decrease?  I think not!

It appears they are moving backwards in progress and not listening to or meeting their customers needs.

When "stay connected" is an Xfinity motto, how is removing an app called "Xfinity Connect" a good idea?  Especially when relying on it when using a mobile device?

Pure stupidity!

I am also very unhappy with Xfinity for retiring the Xfinity Connect App.  I like it because it is easy to setup to monitor your comcast email and your get alerts when you get new mail.  I know you can use other mobile email apps with comcast email, however they are not all as easy to use.  When I look at all of the angry comments in the forums about the Xfinity Connect app being retired, it looks like a lot of Xfinity customers do use this app. Saying that there is not enough usage is a poor excuse for Xfinity go get rid of the app.  We are all paying customers and we pay a heck of a lot of money for Xfinity services.  You cannot tell me that Xfinity doesn't make enough money to maintain one little app!  Once again, it feels like Xfinity doesn't care about its customers.

Xfinity probably doesn’t mind that some of us will have to use Xfinity mobile data to check our email after their caring decision to dump the most used app of all their apps.

To access my voicemail now, I have to go to their website, log in, navigate their user-unfriendly page to find voicemail, then click view transcription. Can they possibly make this any more inconvenient? The *99 option on the phone is ludicrous, it forces you to sit through every voicemail in its entirety. Never mind the app notified me when I had a voicemail, and I could access it away from home. My land line is now totally obsolete. Why even offer this service?

I ABSOLUTELY agree with you!!!  If I can no longer monitor my home phone via that app... I will move it to Verizon who has a LOT fewer outages in my area...  It appears that Comcast/Xfinity has decided to put themselves completely out of the phone business.  I WAS even considering switching my cell provider from Sprint/T-mobile (due to reduced service since their merger that they can't quite explain) to Xfinity... NOW.... um, that is a HUGE NO!

The change today in accessing emails, when everything was working well for so long for so many customers, is Selfish. [Edited: Inflammatory"]. Switching to the new connect.xfinity.com was unnecessary and they didn't give a reason or any explanation why it was necessary. Walk the walk comcast.

I can't believe Xfinity/Comcast eliminated their email app without warning and/or explaining to their customers why and when so we could have changed apps/providers. I called their customer service number and talked with three different people in the Philippines....No Help. I pay over $300/month to Xfinity/Comcast for ridiculously poor service. The company is a joke! Time to cut the cord and find another provider who cares about those who pay the bills.

I don't agree with them doing away with the app, but the app gave notice for weeks that it was shutting down on the 20th.

We aren’t getting any help from Xfinity Employees on the removal of the Xfinity app. Use the Gmail app, or search for an email app on the app store isn’t an appropriate answer. Nothing against the employees; they just don’t have the ability to fix this problem.

But Tom Karinshak  does. He is the Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Experience Officer. Xfinity claims to care about their customers and they even have a page called “Ask Tom K”. So lets ask Tom K to fix this problem.

I continue to text Tom (at Comcast...)

My comments today (4/28/21).

AK

I am VERY unhappy, frustrated and upset about Comcast eliminating the Xfinity Connect app.  As I have read many comments, there are thousands of comments from people who feel the same way.
Using a browser is not working well.  Customers are very upset about what Comcast has done.  We need an app, like the many different companies have, like we used to have.  We wish Comcast cared about their customer's comments and would bring back the app.  People need this app and it's terrible that Comcast wants customers to have to go regress in communication.  The Brower option is not user friendly, the layout/format is terrible and inefficient.
It's time consuming, using folders this way is completely cumbersome, inconvenient and slow.
Is Comcast going to listen to their customers and bring back the Xfinity Connect app, so we can connect? So we can be connected, and organized?
I have read many comments and customers are VERY upset.  Please read comments and listen to us.  Your loyal customers...

Since this app is gone and forced to go to website the email feature [Edited: "Inflammatory"/"Language"].  The app wasn't great but I didn't have to hit a million tabs or buttons to accomplish anything.  Online only works half the time and reloads vs doing what I am trying to do, like delete [Edited: "Inflammatory"/"Language"] mail.  BRING BACK A FUNCTIONAL APP!

I understand how frustrating it is to lose an app you were familiar with. The great news is that you can set up a third party email client to access your Xfinity email to avoid using the web browser! You can click this link for the directions on how to set it up: https://comca.st/3eaALrW.
