Channel navigation with Roku / beta streaming

I recently set up a third "tv" (older RCA cable device) with a Roku device and downloaded the Xfinity Streaming Beta app.  Set up went fine.  The issue is with the Live TV.  With the Roku remote I can only move up and down one channel at a time.  I purchased a separate remote that can link to streaming services (that worked as well) but it would not allow me to manual type in a channel.  Moving one channel at a time makes from going from channel 20 to channel 394 difficult.  Suggestions?  I rarely use this room - it's not worth "renting" a box for every month.

The general Search function in the beta app for Roku (I have app v6.1.0) will find channels by name, but not by number. On my Roku Express+ (model 3910RW, software version 10.0.0, build 4195-51) I can go directly to a channel by:

  1. selecting "Live TV" and then "All Channels" or "Favorite Channels"
  2. pressing the * key on the Roku remote to bring up the Options menu
  3. selecting "Find a Channel"

That search works for searching by either channel name or number.
