Equipment Upgrade

I received a letter from Xfinity. "You're eligible for an equipment upgrade at no additional charge." I rent an X1 TV box and a modem. I swapped my old TV box for an X1 box just a few weeks ago. It does not have voice remote, but we don't need that. I need an explanation of "upgrade." Is there a new, better performing modem available?
