NHL Center ice subscription stopped working today

Been a center ice subscriber for over five years and none of the Channels work tonight 

they all worked Monday

luckily, I am an ESPN plus subscriber and can watch it that way although that does go towards your data cap. This is the first time I’ve seen a mass outage like this in over five years of being a subscriber.

Hello, @hammarlund and thread. I am glad that the issue seems to be resolved now and apologize that it interrupted your games. I am a Maple Leafs fan here and understand the frustration with that. @user_0d2456​, just checked a few games, some popped right on, some sat and cycled with the dots on the screen for a few minutes before going to the game. Not great.

Glad I found this post!  I haven’t had a game since last week, 10/19/2022. Called xfinity twice and barely got to talk to a very unhelpful person. I found my last game on ESPN+. Not sure if I should drop center ice now or not. This sux

I'm also glad you found this post, @user_22dfcc. I suggest you hold off on unsubscribing from NHL Center Ice just yet. We're working on resolving this error as quickly as possible. We'll definitely inform everyone of any updates as soon as they're available.

I'm experiencing the audio dropouts and video pausing as well this evening.

I also had trouble last week with the channels and after talking to the 3rd Xfinity rep he finally got the channels showing, Now having the audio issues.

My Center Ice has always worked fine until I renewed my subscription this year - now I can get all of the channels EXCEPT the one I subscribe for … Chicago Blackhawks channel #3073 … WHY would this channel be blacked out when I live 220 miles away from Chicago.   Makes no sense - I guess I will call daily until I get my money back as NOBODY at Xfinity has been able to help fix the issue.  Really disappointing !

@jkrzwick​ everything worked fine until today. I have a subscription. I get it on my tv, but not on my phone. I get a message saying i need a subscription. I have gone through my phone to make sure that everything is fine, i have gone through systems reboots, and nothing has changed. I paid money for this service, and i'm getting ripped off. Xfinity doesn't care. I wish i could switch cable services.

For the last week, the channel dedicated to the New Jersey Devils has not worked: the screen cycles with three blinking dots, then I’m prompted that the channel is currently unavailable, and to either click "try again" or "cancel".

 

Meanwhile, other Center Ice channels’ pictures freeze or the audio goes out during broadcasts, or it takes longer than usual to load (with black screens and three blinking dots).

 

This the first time where I’ve had Center Ice problems like this and I’ve been a subscriber for years.

 

It’s obvious there are problems for other subscribers as well, so when will all this be resolved for everyone?

I am having the exact same problems as @Jaytoo!, only on the New York Rangers channel.  I have manually rebooted the cable box, changed the batteries on my remote, restarted the game from the beginning.  Nothing works.  Please correct these problems ASAP!!!!!

 Hello!

 

Like others here, I’ve rebooted / re-set my system more than once (including the desperation move of unplugging the system, waiting 30 seconds, and re-plugging), new remote batteries, etc.

 

All of my other non-Center Ice channels work just fine, so it seems to be a problem isolated with Center Ice.

 

The last time I could view a Devils game with Center Ice’s dedicated channel (3084) was October 22. If I want to watch any NJD games, it’ll be on the channels of the game opponents (including the latest game on October 30), and that’s not perfect either.

 

There will be frequent audio / video freezes during various team channel broadcasts, and delays (black screens and three blinking dots) to even getting the game picture.

 

Other unhappy customers have mentioned they can’t watch the NY Rangers and NY Islanders channels – along with the NJ Devils, all three teams are broadcast on the New Jersey / New York region, MSG Network.

 

Is there something going on with MSG Network and Comcast / Xfinity?

In my experience, it is during live game broadcasts. I’ll use yesterday’s (October 30) New Jersey Devils-Columbus Blue Jackets game.

 

At the scheduled time, I checked the NJD channel and all I got was a black screen and three blinking / cycling dots. The screen then either switches to the Center Ice daily game schedule screen, or I get a pop-up that the channel (NJD 3084) is currently unavailable.

 

I then switched to the Blue Jackets channel and that channel’s screen froze and the audio went silent several times in a three-hour broadcast.

 

I hope that this feedback is helpful.

There are further problems.  Every day there are games that supposedly we can watch, but we keep getting the error that it's not available right now.  We did get a one time credit of $20, but this is still unacceptable.  Which is what we told the xfinity person and it's because we want to watch the games, that's the whole point of subscribing to NHL Center Ice.  And no, I don't want to stream it on a miniature phone or tablet - I want to see the action on my tv.

Figure it out or refund everybody at least 1/2 the price of what you're charging for the season if this continues.

And games showing up later just by chance is not acceptable either.  We don't know if they're going to show up or not, and when they repeatedly don't, it's not worth our time trying to check.

I'm curious if the rest of you who posted are getting your games now.  We still can't get half the games because "it's unavailable at this time".  We've received a one time credit of $20, but as I mentioned to the customer rep, we want to watch the games.

What's going to happen if the rest of the season is like this?

And going back to channels to see if a game ever appears, which it has done a few times, that's unacceptable too.

I asked all sorts of questions, is it my cable boxes, is it my modem, I've reset everything, do you want to reset it too, that's fine?  NO SOLUTION, but sorry.

Ridiculous.  We've had NHL Center Ice since it's start also, and obviously, the service now being provided is inferior for a higher price.
