Is anyone else getting pop-ups from Norton saying their account is closed because Comcast has cancelled their Internet service (even though Internet service is NOT cancelled)? Happened last week and an English-as-a-foreign language chat rep had me uninstall and reinstall. I'm ready to make massive scene at local Xfinity store. Feedback???
Any opinions on how good Norton from Comcast is these days?
Also, is there a place that I can read up on all it provides etc. I wonder if there is realtime protection with the Free From Comcast Version?
Okay, I think I found it.
It doesn't look to bad, and I'm having issues with Avast. I will post this here for reference.

As a long time Norton user myself, I am partial to Norton - others may have other opinions, however, I beleive what plays nicely with the way you use your system and your trust of the product is the "proof in the pudding" so to speak. There are trails availble for all the major protection software, so only you can make the decision which is best for you.
I use the Fast Connect Protection to save my passwords for several years and today it gives an error- directs to a site where it says it is no longer in use? What do i do to fix it? Is it still a valid program or not? i need topay my billsandeverything is all setup in here??
Fast Connect has not been associted with Comcast for a few years now. It is a Whitesky Product and any questions would need to be directed to them:
Can you download Norton on mobile for free by being a xfinity internet customer
The Norton security software included at no extra charge with Comcast's Internet service is only for Windows and Mac desktop and laptop computers. Norton Mobile Security for phones and tablets costs $20/yr. See http://constantguard.comcast.net/products-and-services/.
The App and Play stores have many security apps available, some of which are free.
Hello Ive been using a diff password vault I purchased for a long time now. I was going to give nortons a try again and opened identity safe followed info to install extensions from norton console to browsers and to my surprise it appears cnss has gone to the cloud with passwords? I thought comcasts did not offer that? Its asking for sign in (email and pw) I dont have clue what to do with that as Im running cnss. Ive run cnss for literal years now. help? thanks my cnss version is: 22 12 1 1 5 win 7 all up to date turned off old pw manager. Must I use cloud? I did use norton products very far in past quiete possible not even this machine. Ive run clean up software by norton many a time since anyway. it was working last I dumped the pw manager from comcast a few years ago.
First let me apologize for the delay in responding - yesterday was filled with real-life events - I barely turned the systems on all day.
Done thanks LOL . I see the dots and it is for safe search etc when clicked. Id prefer to use local vault I think. Its def cloud in f fox and chrome it has email sign on in corner but doesnt ask every time. How or what shows actual diff from what is running cloud or local?
A local Vault can not be use on fully updated FF or Chrome browsers. IE can use either Cloud or Local Vault and what you saw on the Security Tab does in fact occur only with a Cloud Vault. If a Local Vault, it asks if you desire to log into your vault when Windows starts.
Is what I show'd you in IE the cloud for sure? Its only way I could resurrect the pw vault to run once I came back from long break. (prev post : uninstalled and reinstall ncss and had to sign up to get it going).
Please see the following thread - it is quite long and covers a lot fo territory, but has some very helpful info and a few methods of regaining a Local Vault - if yu deicde to go that way.
Thanks for assist much appreciated If I felt secure w/ cloud Id use it but I just dont. Is it recc'd to use norton cloud for very sensitive info? I guess Im asking how tough the security is or layered?
That's like asking which is the best Antivirus, or browser, or operating system - etc. The user has to decide what best suits their needs and use that. One thing to remember, you ust be signed into your Norton Account (email address and password) prior to being able to enter a password for your Cloud Vault. Whereas with a Local Vault, all you need is to be signed into a windows User account and a password. Plus you can automatically start the ID Safe Local Vault when you start Windows. so there are more layers of security for the Cloud Vault - however, some users do not trust their passwords in the Cloud.
The Norton Security suite for Xfinity will not install on High Sierra. When will it be available?
Running live update did not solve the problem, but contacting Symantec and having a technition take control of my computer doing all kinds of downloads and reinstalls with specific file deletions did. The technition was able to install the software, and it only took about an hour. I'm happy now, I feel protected again.
I am trying to find out how to completely uninstall McAfee and install Norton Security Suite. I did not know that Comcast or Xfinity or both had changed their virus protection from McAfee to Norton Security Suite until I saw the Norton icon on my homepage. I compared and wanted to try the Norton but I cannot find out for sure how this is done. I read online where you have to completely uninstall McAfee so I guess I can't just go in and uninstall the program because I have heard that this does not completely uninstall the McAfee program. I contacted Xfinity through the internet chat and was given the link to where you go to install Norton but was not explained how to completely unistall McAfee. Can someone please help?
The following link provdes instructions for the initial installation of Norton Security Suite provided by Comcast. Following the links on the Kasperky site will provide th too and instructions for completely uninstalling your current McAfee using their MCPR Tool. As you have seen it is necessary to completely remove any previous Antivirus program prior to installing Norton.

When trying to install Norton, I am asked to sign in. I have tried my Comcast username and it does not work. I tried logging into the Xfinity site and it works. Any help?
Since yuo are posting in this forum, you are logged in. You must also be using your residential modem, which I imagine you are.

I saw this same issue on the actual Norton forum website and there has been no responses...I experienced the same issue twice...I have had a pop up indicating Norton Safe Web Extension for Safari is ready to install. I have this extension installed already. Would this be a possible scam. Thus far no expert from Norton has responded and I can't seem to find any other forum addressing this.
