poor internet connection

poor internet connection

We have just installed Xfinity triple play in our home. Everything seems to be working ok except for the range of the wifi service. we have had the router/modem change and still no results. The laptop computer that is (straight line) only 15 feet away looses connection. Xfinity answer is that we have to purchase an extender for the wifi service. I do not find this to be acceptable as we are already paying a substancial fee for the service. It mkay be back to ATT where we had no problems.

Are you experiencing any speed issues when the laptop is connected? Are you also having issues on other devices or just the laptop?

There are other options. Google for WiFi repeaters / range extenders, WiFi mesh systems / pods, powerline ethernet adapters, MoCA adapters.
