Warm days and signal problems, personal Netgear C700 modem

Last year during the summer I experienced many cable modem resets due to loss of signal and the signal failure could last from minutes to hours. When the weather got colder during the fall and winter starting in November, all the problems went away and internet service was solid except for an occasional reset. I am using a personal Netgear CM600 cable modem.

 

In April this year I didn’t see any problems. Now it is May and the temperature highs started to rise above 70 in the middle of the month. The cable problems have come back too. In addition, I have noticed a change in the number of downstream bonded channels from 24 to 16 and the channel numbers and frequences have changed from last year. Downstream signal levels are lower and the error rates are up.

 

What can I do to solve this problem? Calling Comcast doesn’t resolve anything. I don’t believe the house wiring is not at fault as it is fairly new construction. I have checked their outside termination box for connector tightness. If I call for on-site service they send email messages that there may be expenses to repair on-site problems and I don’t care to deal with that process.

 

This is clearly a problem with their cable signal, so how does one get them to fix it?

Clearly Comcast was up to something from 5/15 to 5/21 given the time the modem reset.

 

These are the channels after a reboot last November. Notice the nice downstream and upstream power levels. Even though higher channels are locked, they don't appear to be used (no error counts).

This is what I get today. Right after startup, I lock on channel 1 (different frequency than November) and downstream power levels are good but much lower and upstream power is a little high.
