WIFI not working

WIFI not working

My WIFI has stopped working.  Specifically I have a Netgear wifi and after buying a book for my Kindle the Wifi has not worked.  Where do I start to diagnose?

Welcome to the Forum. Sorry you are having difficulty.
We need some more information in order to be able to see how to assist you


Do you have other computers and devices on your WIFI along with the Kindle Fire?

If so, do the other devices still make the connection?

 

 

So, if you could supply Make and model of your Router as well as the Operating Systems of any wireless devices (The Kindle of course is Android Based)

My router is Netgear can't see a model name.  I don't have any other equipment using the router.

Do you know how to  configure your Netgear router?  if not, here is a link that might help.

 

How-to-Secure-a-Wireless-Router

If you log into the Router, you can see the SSID name that your router transmits.

You can also go down to Attached Devices and see if your router is seeing your Kindle. 

If the router doesn't see the kindle as an attached device then you need to go into Settings on your Kindle and make the Connection.

  

1. Tap Settings
2. Tap Wireless & Networks
3.  Ensure Wifi on checked
4.  Under wifi networks you should see a list of WiFi routers available in your neighborhood
5. Tap on the SSID of your router
6 . Enter the wifi password from your router and tap Connect

 

Do you have a connection now?
