Unplugging router

Unplugging router

I'm painting the room my router is in and I need to take off the electrical switchplate around the plug-in, which means I'd have to unplug the router.  What will happen if I do this?  I don't want to mess up my internet connection or the wireless network I have in place....which both are working great.

Thanks

Re: Unplugging router

Unplugging the router should not affect its settings. Routers come back on line after power failures after all, so unplugging one should be no problem.

Re: Unplugging router

Thanks so much.  I get nervous when doing anything that involves touching our internet equipment as we initially had tons of problems with them.  I'll give it a go today....thanks again.
