Cable Modem

HW Version:11.0
Vendor:ARRIS Group, Inc.
BOOT Version:4.2.0.45
Core Version:10.0.145B
Model:TG1682G
Product Type:XB3
Flash Part:256 MB
Download Version:10.0.145B.SIP.PC20.CT

I'm getting 8 downstream channels for the past week and a half instead of the 16 that I had previously. Also my upload speed has been fluctuating from 0.1mb/s to 5mb/s and my download speed has been around 20mb/s to 50mb/s. I'm hardwired in and I pay for 75down/10up. I have reset my modem to its default settings and it hasn't fixed the problem.

Every night at 7:00pm until 7:00 am I lose my entire connection. At first its only a quarter of my speed, half, a third, and eventually my modem disconnects.

Those stats appear to be ok at the time of being taken. There are a few stats that only can be read by the CMTS at the headend. Those are the ICFR(In Channel Frequency Response), Upstream Signal to Noise Ratio (uSNR), and the Upstream Receive Power. You can call Comcast and you should be able to obtain those values from the representative and they should also be able to see a history plot of the gateway to see if everything is in the green or not. uSNR should be at least 31dB. ICFR should be no higher than 2dBmV and Upstream Receive Power should be in between -2 to +2dBmV with 0 being perfect in the middle.

Had a tech visit my house and he replaced all of my wires/splitters, checked all of the signals and told me everything looked ok. He didn't give me a new modem even though I asked for one. My issues weren't fixed. I still cannot use my internet past 7:30pm without it constantly going out every few seconds. This issue has been going on for more than 2 weeks now and has yet to be resolved. I also noticed something new in my system logs today. There are 4 pages of these all from today.

So if nothing is wrong with my equipment and my signals are good and my cables are fine..... Why am I unable to use the service that I'm paying for?

From 9:30am-6:50pm my connection looks average/acceptable. But I do not use my internet during this time and I need to be able to use it at any time without it being down for more than 12 hours every day.

@DebLev86,

We apologize that you are experiencing connection issues. After reviewing your account, devices, and area I did notice some area issues that could effect your service. However all the "issues" that I saw were happening during "business hours" (between the hours of 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM), not overnight as described by you.

When experiencing these issues at night, what type of device are you trying to connect on and what type of connection are you using (hard-wired/WiFi)? What type of error messages are your receiving? What browser are you using when attempting to connect during those times? This information will help us to identify the type of issue you are experiencing and how best to resolve it.

Thanks

I'm on a desktop that is directly connected to my Arris TG1682G and I have the same problem with multiple browsers(Chrome,InternetExplorer). I can't play League of Legends because I constantly lose packets and disconnect. This problem started 2 weeks ago and I haven't installed any new software on my computer. My network adapter is up to date and my computer has the necessary specs required to utilize my service plan(75/10). Six months ago I was receivng T3 timeout errors from my rental modem, but a tech came to my house and fixed my signal issue. Two months later I was experiencing the same T3 timeout errors and I bought my own SB6190 and that worked for 15 days until it too began to have T3 timeouts and would constantly reset itself. I recently tried to plugin that SB6190 to see if the new firmware update 9.1.93V would fix my issue, but my modem wasn't accepting the firmware push, and it is still getting T3 timeouts. My rental modem(Arris TG1682G) doesn't show any T3 timeout errors in its logs and I've been told my signals are fine, yet my upload speed is staying around 200-300kilobit and my download speed fluctuates greatly. As for errors I'm not entirely sure, but usualy around 11:00pm my connection drops completely and windows tells me that it cannot connect to the primary dns server. When that happens I restart my modem and then I'm capable of using the internet again, but the connection is still around 1megabit down/up and I'm not able to play League of Legends or speak with friends on TeamSpeak.

And now that it is 7:37AM my connection has suddenly started to work again. I don't know what is causing this. Maybe a neighbor is causing this? and when they go to work or something it stops? I just don't get it.

I really want to find out what is causing this to happen. It is driving me insane.

Will I ever receive any help? My parents don't want to pay your bill anymore. Even my father is beginning to understand how bad the connection is.

I was told by someone from comcast direct that this issue would've normally been dealt with by now.

I also never had a tech come to my house on the 18th or 19th. The guy from India, Gulderhesh I believe, scheduled it for, "Wednesday, the 18th of April". Hahahahaha. Yeah.......

Try calling 215-665-1700. This is Comcast Corporate Offices. They are open M-F 9:00AM - 6:00PM(I believe) EST. Ask the receptionist to speak to someone in either Customer Relations or Regional Management. This will escalate the problem to a Comcast employee with a bit more power to have something done and hopefully that escalation to corporate offices will expedite the process of getting that fixed.

Sorry I'm on my phone and the newer forum layout doesn't let me edit from my iPhone. Edit to my previous post. 8:30AM - 6:00PM EST.
