Slow speeds

My plan speed is 250Mbps but recently I only get ~5Mbps. I'm using a Motorola MB7420. I've tried several methods of restarting the modem and have had Comcast technical support reprovision the modem several times. Because I own the modem, they refuse to provide any support outside of resetting or reprovisioning. I've gone ahead and ordered a replacement of the same make and model from Best Buy but that won't arrive for more than a week.

 

Does anybody happen to have any idea what's wrong with my connection?

After a lot of mucking around with testing devices, cables, and NICs and checking with other machines, it turns out Windows was the culprit. I had updates awaiting a reboot and, now that I think about it, the problem had started around the time the updates were installed. Rebooting fixed this issue.
