SB 6120 Constantly Resetting

I do have a truck roll scheduled, but it's not until next Wednesday afternoon (4-11-18).  I called Thursday (4-5-18) and I can't believe it's going to take a week before someone shows up.  Oh, well...

Anyway, here are my stats.  These were taken directly from the cable coming into my residence, so all my internal cables have been eliminated.  When I called, the service rep said he could not connect to my modem.  I'm almost certain it's the Upstream Power Level that's the culprit because I've had the issue in years past.

Re: SB 6120 Constantly Resetting

Well, the issue is resolved.  I was just about ready to head to Best Buy to purchase a new modem.  Instead, again, I moved my modem out to where the cable comes into my garage from Comcast's underground feed, ran an extension cord, plugged everything in and called Comcast support.  We found out that Comcast was showing a completely different modem and MAC address.  Huh?  It's weird because I've had this same modem for at least 6 or 7 years.  After entering the modem model, MAC address and re-provisioning the modem, my Internet is back!  Gremlins!

Yeah, your signals are pretty marginal. Most likely it's a wiring issue, but it could be something on Comcast's end. It's also possible your modem is failing. Smiley Sad

Re: SB 6120 Constantly Resetting

Thanks.  Yeah, I think something is up on their end because, like I said, I connected directly to their cable coming from the pole or, in my case, coming from underground.  I suppose it's time for a new modem, just to eliminate that from the equation.

Ahh yes, you did say that! If that's what you are seeing at that point, then yep, probably an issue on Comcast's end.
