When I try to connec my Wii to the Comcast Cable Modem router I experience problems.  During the set up of the Internet on the Wii, it asks me for my internet source, and it will recognize the router.  However after creating the connection, it prompts me for the SSID number and I enter the number listed on the bottom of the cable modem.  When the process test the connetion, it fails and I get a 51330 error message.  Do you have any solution?

If you are sure the wireless key you are using is correct (ie you can connect other wireless devices to the router using it), look here:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/results.jsp?error_code=51330&system=Wii&locale=en_US

for some other possible causes for that error. The main one is an incorrect security key, but it can also be caused by channel interference with other wireless routers.

Solution

The SSID is not always what may be put on a sticker. It is the name of your wireless network sometimes.

Depending on what Operating system you are using on your computer to acess the internet,

If you or someone else named the wireless network you should be able to see it when scanning for your network with your wii. If the wii is not picking up your network when you do the scan chances are you may not be getting a signal at all.

If you are not sure what your ssid is then check this link.

Again depending on your os and wireless set up it may be different.
