How to change network name on "unsupported or personal device"

I just got an Xfinity internet package and decided to buy my own modem instead of renting. I got a Netgear CM5000 which I guess isn't a device supported by Xfinity. Does anyone know how I can change the network name of my wifi network? Since it isn't an Xfinity supported device I can't do it on my account here.

Thanks!

I have a different Netgear but it's probably the same:

Point your browser at:  http://192.168.0.1/

Login  (You might want to change the admin password if you haven't before.)

Go to the wireless tab.  There are names for both the 2.4GHz and the 5Ghz SSIDs.

(Maybe change the WPA Passphrase too if not already done.)

Click Apply.

If you mean the Netgear CM500 it's a modem only, doesn't have wireless. You would have to connect your own wireless router to it, then log in to the router and set it up as required.

Do you mean *CM500* ? If so, that is a straight cable modem, not a WiFi router. You need to make that change in your router.
