We've had the comcast internet service at our current place for 2 years with no issues. We recently upgraded to 5g comcast modem and every since than I have issues being disconnected and lag playing world of warcraft. Anything I can do here? I have called tech support about 5 times now and replaced the modem.
Is this a WiFi connection ? If so, does a computer hardwired via an ethernet cable directly to the gateway device do the same thing ?
Thanks for the response.
I don't have a good way to play consistently on wired but I tried for a little and I didnt have a problem. The disconnects are sporactic though. So I don't if I was just lucky.
Yeah but like I said no issues until they convinced us to start using there 5g router. I had the old comcast router hooked up to a seperate wireless 5g router and I dont remember any significant disconnect problems. Now I get like 5 or 6 disconnects an hour either connecting to my router or through there router.
Ditch their equipment and use your own high quality devices ?
We have been having the same issues for the last few weeks. According to Blizzard, there is a problem with the chipset in Comcast (and other ISP) routers.

We're having a technician come out---yet again, second time in 2 weeks---to try to fix the problem. maybe he can get us a new/better modem?
My husband and I ditched Comcast's equipment. Used a Linksys router we had bought two years ago and bought a Netgear Modem. Neither were on the list someone posted as having chip issues with World of Warcraft. So far have had no issues. Able to open browsers, including wowhead.com and stay connected to the game. I will be able to return their hub to them and save $10.00 a month too. Win - win.
