Device Upgrade

Today I received a phone call from Comcast saying that I may not be getting the full benefit with my current modem under the internet blast service.  The current modem is Cisco DPC3008 which I leased from Comcast. It further mentioned that i need to visit this website at http://comcast.net/device-update which probably the wrong link.

 

Can someone tell me what this about and give me the right link to review this issue further?  Many thanks for your time.

That modem is among the latest DOCSIS 3 capable devices and will function fine for the latest speeds. They may have incorrect account info for the modem in their database.

We also received that phone call to upgrade.  I went to the website, it asked for a Letter ID which I did not have.  I selected a number from the list to complete the form.  The modem I have is a Motorola SB5100 and is the original one we received from the cable provider a number of years ago.

Yours is a DOCSIS 2 device.
