Does anyone know how Comcast would connect an RCA modem and wireless router?.  Seems that the main signal should come over coax cable to the modem, E-net cable to the wirelss router and the system should work..  However, there appears to be an extra e-net cable from the wall  which needs to be connected to show link traffic, but the network does not connect to the internet? -  Has anyone run into this type of connection set up before?

That would make sense if your computer's Ethernet cable is plugged into a wall jack.
