Digital converter boxes sold on eBay

Is it possible to buy a Comcast digital converter box, remote, & power supply from a seller on eBay and make it work on a TV in a Comcast equipped residence?

Re: Digital converter boxes sold on eBay

Any box sold on eScam is most likely STOLEN. As mentioned, Comcast will NOT authorize any 3rd party boxes. The only 3rd party devices that you can use are those that work with CableCard, such as Tivo and some computer tuners, and you have to pay a monthly fee for the CableCard.

No. Comcast will not activate any box(except a Tivo) you buy on ebay, or anywhere else.
