Can you do a complete reset of the Gateway?  There is a reset on the rear of the Gateway; hold it in for at least 30 seconds.

I had xbox1 devices on bedtime mode and changed the times and they should b working but they are not. Im tired of messing with this. If i delete the app will my devices go back to normal or will they still b paused

Don't know, but you might be able to end the pause by pressing the reset button on your gateway.

I, too am having trouble waking up my “family” devices on my account. I needed to use my pc last night after bedtime mode kicked in and can still not wake it up. It is also not registering the time changes I am trying to make for bedtime and wake up.

Resetting gateway did not work. Also had a technician refresh the system. That too did not work. Last night they had me disable parental controls. Once again that did not work. This has become beyond frustrating.

I am unable to unpause an ipad that has been paused. I tried restarting the Gateway and all other proposed measures. The device is still not unpaused and is essentially useless. Please help.

Did you try removing the SSID and adding it back?

I connected my work laptop to my WiFi and get excellent connection, but when I go to use the internet I get the “this device is paused” warning. In my xFi app, this device is unpaused and no error when I trouble shoot the device. HELP! I want to telework!

The bedtime feature does not work and the ability to pause and wake device is not working. I have to reset my cable modem for it to work, but it only works properly for a week. The problem is that I never know when it quits working until I want my kids to go to bed, and then I realize the devices are not i. Bedtime mode. Can someone contact me to fix?

What is bedtime mode?  Where is it?  I’m very dis satisfied with the parental controls on this comcast router device.  IT doesn’t work on some sites like YouTube and some others.

I’m experiencing difficulty with pausing my devices and using the bed time mode. I believe that they were working prior to an application update and just realized this week that the pause button is no longer. Is there anything that can be done?

Hi kerryhaney, sorry you are experiencing this. Can you please clarify the issue so that we can help look into it for you?

Are you trying to change the bedtime times for when the devices should pause, or are you trying to remove bedtime rules?

Northtilley, can you please send me a Private Message with your service address as well as the MAC address for the computer that you were unable to wake up? We can take a look into this for you.

Lelii20, it looks like your Gateway and xFi were out of sync. I fixed this in hopes that it resolves the pause/bedtime issue you were experiencing. Can you please try pausing or creating a bedtime schedule again?

Txmax, apologies you're experiencing these issues. Can you please send me a private message confirming your service address, as well and providing an example of a device MAC or profile you are unable to pause or place into bedtime mode?

Hmoore75, can you confirm that the devices placed into Bedtime Mode are remaining connected to your home network?

The devices would show as inactive on your network if they jump to either the xfinitywifi hot spot, cellular data or another nearby WiFi network.

MNU, it looks like your Gateway and xFi were out of sync. I fixed this in hopes that it resolves the pause/bedtime issue you were experiencing. Can you please try pausing a device and/or setting a bedtime schedule again and let me know if it works?

If you still have problems, please send me a private message verifying your service address and the MAC address for a device that will not pause.

So I just called on this issue and had it fixed. First ensure that all profiles you are having difficulty with are set to Bedtime mode off. No settings to be used. Then, call Comcast for technical support on your internet. They (Comcast) will need to do a factory reset of your modem from their end, not you from your house. That will clear any of the rules that are in existence but you cannot see. Once it is rebooted it should work and all rules, bedtime settings are cleared. We did this last night and it seemed to work. Good luck! What a pain!!

Having problems pausing any devices.  Also not seeing my son's computer on network.

IM HAVING ISSUES WITH NO LUCK WITH CHAT. CANT COMMUNICATE WITH  DEVICES AT HOME BECAUSE OF THE PAUSE UN PAUSE

Why is this not resolved 2 months later. Why did you take the block feature out of the gateway/modem for advanced users. I have devices paused and they are still getting access. This is a problem. Guess I will have to go back to my own equipment. I have to spend more money now... I am looking into Verizon now. Tired of issue after issue for the amount of money you charge every month.

My issue has still not been resolved and it seems so simiple that you guys could go in and reset the divice its my samsung tv i never put a block on but now is stuck on puased but does no say so in the app itsays its active i dont have time to spend on the phone another hour and a half with resets that dont work in highly upset

I have had many issues with this same problem over the past few weeks and this solution was logical and it worked for me.

Xfinity - Aries TG

 

1. From browser (I used Firefox) go to 10.0.0.1

2. Enter (user name in my case) : admin

3. Enter password Smiley Sadwhatever yours is - default may be password; Password; or PASSWORD)

4: After logging on go to ;Troubleshooting; Reset/ Restore Gateway - Select RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS

5. After restore you must enter WiFi settings as part of the process. USE SAME ID AND PASSWORD AS OLD SET UP

THI IS IMPORTANT AS IT SAVES A LOT OF REDOING EVERYTHING.

6. Log back in to your Router (10.0.0.1 from browser) mine reset to user: admin - and passord as : PASSWORD

7. It forced me to change password and I entered the old one.

 

Everything has been perfect since. Good luck to anyone who has this proble!

Google sayst here are 111k hits for "comcast xfi pause not working".....

 

This is so far the best thread I have found for any semblance of light at the end of the tunnel.

 

But I am still having issues.  

 

Has anyone found an actual SOLUTION that really does work?

If you do a complete reset, it would default back to the default UN/PW.....I am trying to avoid a complete reset though myself.

I am having the exact same issues as all of the other people on this thread and the other 4 or 5 threads about this issue.I cannot pause any device or inact parental controls on any device. I have had 2 phone conversations with the xfinity help line as well as a chat in xfinity help. You would think that for as many customers are posting, and are upset with this feature not working - xfinity would be on top of this with a patch to repair the issue. This feature is on reason I picked xfinity. It is not working for me. I'm going to cancell xfinity and go with my second choice. Why can this be fixed??

I am having this problem. I hear the kids playing their !@#$ video games at 2 in the morning waking me up when I have to work tomorrow. Did the kids do something to exploit the network? Or is there some sort of issue with this bs XFI software. All of them are showing paused but they are definitely online, I can see them on router webpage as being active but not the xfi app. Going to have to block them there manually every night. This is one of the reasons I signed up for xfinity and this is ridiculous!

Same here, I contacted support several times but they can not fix it...very frustrating...
