Bedtime and Parental Controls

Bedtime and Parental Controls

I should be the only one able to change the settings but I routinely log in to find that the bedtimes have either been changed or removed and the parental controls turned off.  I am not using the default settings for the router admin control and the kids do not have Xfinity user accounts.  Is this a result of a glitch in the system? Why can't I view logs that shows when changes are made and by whom?

How old are your kids? If they know your comcast email and can guess your pw, they can pretty much undo everything you are trying to do.

Your kids have accessed your password. It may have been saved on one of your devices and they found it. My workaround for this is that ALL electronic devices are only used in the public spaces in our house and are not allowed in bedrooms. Besides, you don't want your kiddos accessing porn anymore than you want them snap chatting all night, right? Also, as a condition for being granted the privilege of accessing the Internet and having a cell phone, you should have all their passwords. What? They want yours? Sure, you have nothing to hide.

Seems unlikely since I have changed the password each time I find the settings changed; I use multiple special characters, numerals, and both upper and lower case characters.  This is why I would like to be able to view a log of when and by whom changes were made.

JFB63, it could also be due to User ID access. xFi is currently accessbile to anybody that has either a Primary or Unrestricted Secondary user account. If you have multiple User IDs on your Comcast Xfinity account, check that the access levels for each is assigned appropriately - to restrict access to xFi, the user should be listed as a Restricted Secondary.

Re: Bedtime and Parental Controls

Hi ComcastBrittany,

I had her as a restricted secondary but removed her completely some time ago.  I also have my account set up  so that I get a text anytime someone tries to log in as me.  Again, I should be able to control access to the router and the Xfi app, and should be able to see a log of all changes.  I am really starting to doubt that anyone is changing the settings; I am not confident that the app is stable.
