I have a business that has a website which is listed on Google. If I do a search on the name of the business (Tradewinds-West Video Productions) at google.com it shows at the top of Google's listing as expected.
If I do the same search at xfinity.comcast.net my website does not show at all. I was wondering what the issue here might be since the search on the Xfinity homepage uses Google to drive to drive its search results. One would expect that identical searches would yield similar if not identical results.
Is there anything I can do to ensure that the search results on Xfinity's search contain my business as it does on Google and other search engines I have submitted the website to?
Any help or information appreciated.
xfinity.comcast.net says enhanced by google, it does not say it uses the same algorithm as google.
I just tried putting that business name into the comcast site and it came up number 3 for me.
in my opinion most people do not use the comcast page for anything or make it their home page.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I saw that xfinity.comcast.net notes it is enhanced by Google. I suspected the alogrithim is different.
Can you give me the URL for the search you did? If I go to http://xfinity.comcast.net enter "Tradewinds-West Video Productions" the only result for my business is from merchantcircle.com not my website.
I disagree about people not using the Xfinity page as their browser's homepages. Most of the less tech savvy home users I know do not change their browser's home page after Comcast service is installed and the browser's webpage is set to the Comcast home page. In fact the reason why I am spending time investigating this because two clients called to tell me they couldn't find my website when searching. Both were using the Xfinity/Comcast site as their home page and did not know they could change it to something else.

Here is the result I got.
Fourth entry is the MerchantCircle link. Only went in 2 pages but didn't see a link to your actual site.
Top entry on a Bing Search.

Yup, it's the top result on google as well
Bizarre that it does not show at all here even with a search on the business name itself.
I guess there is something in the Comcast search algorithm that is excluding the site for some reason. It's just a one page site with hardly any links to it from other websites. Single page sites can clobber your SEO sometimes.

I have this same problem with mine http://www.propertypro1.com it rididculus because there is no place to submit your website to "comcast" as a search engine. I was told that you didnt need to submit it cause it is powered by google but yet its not finding the same websites as google. I have many pages, backlinks keywords, google adwords etc. and I am getting nothing from them. but I am first page on google, bing, yahoo etc. if you type in the www.propertypro1.com

Comcast's search results page says "Powered by Ask" as well as "Powered by Google". Maybe the search results are actually coming from Ask? At least, a Google search finds both "Tradewinds West Video Productions" and "propertypro1.com", while an Ask.com search, like Comcast, finds neither.
Maybe you need to submit your sites to Ask.com?
Extra confusing is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ask.com, which says "In late 2010, facing insurmountable competition from Google, the company outsourced its web search technology to an unspecified third party ....". ?!?!?!

To register your site with Ask.com to see if that helps Comcast find it, see http://about.ask.com/docs/about/webmasters.shtml#1
