Not unlocking iPhone X even I am ready for full payment

Hi,

My device is on payment plan and I want to unlock it because my wife is going abroad. I am ready to pay full due. But cusomer care says they wont do until i completed at least one month in xfinity mobile service. That was really frustrating as even I paid and device is my own, XM is not willing to unlock it. I dont know how will XM survive in super competitive market.

Teamblend, This changed sometime late last week.

As of now, all devices must be paid in full and there must be at least 1 confirmed successful payment to a monthly bill before we can request an unlock code.

shahulnu, this is correct. Even if you paid for your device in full, you must have one successful bill payment on record before we can unlock the device.

ComcastKenF, Previously you guys were unlocking all phones after 30days of usage. I see your site now says phone must be paid off.. when did that change and will you still honor your old process of granting all unlock request prior to paying off the device. Thanks

That's to bad @ComcastKenF. That was one of those nice things Xfinity Mobile had going for them.

Allowing unlock before device is paid off was a generous policy, but it didn't make sense to me in terms of fraud potential. Seems like it would have been really easy for someone to sell their unlocked phone, then stop making payments, and the new purchaser would suddenly own a blacklisted brick.

Unlocking afer full payment makes sense. But still waiting for one complete month is nonsense.

Pay your bill in advance. It sounds to me like that's all they need you to do. Pay the bill before it's do then try again. 😁. I mean if I read the comments correctly your first bill needs to be paid, so the 30 day nonsense should be null and void.
