Jan 30 2018, after month & months of Connect App issues!!!

WONKY Xfinity CONNECT App after IOS11.2.1 update on iPhone 7 Plus

 

After months of dealing with:

App not opening / loading email after preview

-everytime! have to swipe away app ( close app) -reopen Connect App, search for " unbolded email" registered as having been read, which it has not been read because it would not load, loading wheel turning around and around endlessly

App not sending emails

App not sending emails, then dropping in Draft Folder

App Draft Folder prompt, only can send email as Plain Text, not HTML

 

FIX ON IPHONE 7 Plus, Model MN4K2LL/A

1)Delete Xfinity Connect app from phone, hold down app until it wiggles, click on the X- now app is deleted

-be sure you know your email & password to reinstall app later on

-be sure you know the password to open your iphone if you have a password on your lockscreen

-be sure you know your ICLOUD / ITUNES / APP Store password ( all synchronistic names for same ID & password)

 

2)On phone go to: Settings / General / Reset / Reset All Settings ( it will only reset phone, not delete data and apps, app settings will have to be selected again, like Notification Alers, link to Locations Services, access to Photos- you will receive these requests when you open any app after this reset process- no worry this is not a hard reset- all contacts, photos, apps, etc are intact)

A few minutes to allow phone to RESET- it will close down and open again, requiring your lockscreen password, your fingerprint code will not work this time

 

3) Enter your iPhone lockscreen password ( if you have one) open your phone, go to App Store

4) Search for Xfinity Connect App

5) Click on the little cloud w arrow to download the App. Your App Store password window will open to enter your  Icloud / Itunes / App Store password ( all the diff names for same thing)

6) Xfinity App will download, go to your home screen (click on main button on front of phone-takes you to your home screen with all your app icons), find the app

7)Open Xfinity Connect App, Sign In, enter your Xfinity account email & password

8) Allow a little time for your App to reload your emails. You will need to reenter any special settings on your app, Open your APP, go to upper left corner, click on horizontal lines, side menu will open, click on SETTINGS wheel, enter your preferences for messaging, call, noticfications, etc..

Go back to your Email Screen-Click on horizontal lines again, to open menu, click on EMAIL

 

While this is reloading, go back to iPhone - Settings / Accounts & Passwords / 

-under Accounts- check to Add your Comcast email " Add Account", follow prompts: such as enter email & password, SAVE
