Android Xfinoity Connect app unread message indicator

After continuing to have sync issues when using the basic email app on my Samsung Note 5 to access my Comcast email account, I decided to give the Xfinity Connect app for Android another try. It seems to be working fine so far except that I don't see an unread message indicator appearing on the app shortcut on my homepage. I'm not even sure if this is a feature of the app but it absolutely should be. The basic android email app will display the number of unread messages on top of the app shortcut. This prevents you from having to unnecessarily open the app to see if you have any new messages. Can anyone tell me if this feature is available and if so how to you turn it on?
