xfinity tv app can't remove devices

xfinity tv app can't remove devices

It seems as though every time I install  an update to the IOS xfinity tv app in the app store, it adds another device to the allowed device list on either my iPad or iPhone. Now I have 4 iPhones 1 iPad and 1 unknown device's using up all my licenses. 

 

When I log into device.xfinity.com, it only shows one iPad and one iPhone. I've removed both but the TV app still lists all these old ghost devices. I cant get rid of them and it's making things difficult. 

 

How do I get rid of these unknown devices if devices.xfinity.com does not list them?

Are you logging onto https://device.comcast.net/devices with the "Primary User" account or one of the secondary accounts?  Only the "Primary User" can see all the "Authorized Devices", and has the power to remove them.

If you are the primary account holder as HowAboutThisOne ststed, a possible work-around is this:

 

Uninstall the APP and restart the Phone.

Go back into the store and install the APP as new

Access the newly installed APP to see if the inventory is now zeroed out...

Yes, I am using the primary account holder login. It did allow me to remove the two devices that devices.xfinity.com list. It did not show the amount of devices that the app shows registered.

Seems like a lengthy process. I will give it a try when time allows. Seems like allot to go through.

I'm still confused as to why you can't remove your "ghost" devices.  You wrote in your reply "It did allow me to remove", what is "It"?  You also said "that devices.xfinity.com list".  I cannot get to devices.xfinity.com.  That isn't a correct URL, so where are you seeing your devices listed?

 

 

Also, are you 100% sure you are logging into https://device.comcast.net/devices with your primary user account?  You will see the "REMOVE" link next to your device name, as shown below.

 

If you are doing everything as you are suppose to, then I'm lost as to why you can't remove the "ghost devices".  You might have to take the route that geek46 suggested and uninstall the app, then reinstall.

Maybe you can also take a screenshot from your iPhone for the "Manage Download Devices" page of the Xfinity TV app and post it here, as well as a screenshot from the "Managed Authorized Devices" web page.  That might possibly help Comcast with diagnosing your issue.  Just remember to blank out any personal info from the screenshots.
