wrong cable box identifed as default dvr

On the listing screen (http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/tv-listings), at the bottom of the screen, there is a black ribbon. The right side of the screen identifies the cable box/TV that is being controlled. Mine is correctly set to “family room”.

On the ribbon titled “Xfinity TV Go”, I click “saved”. This takes me to the “DVR Manager”  (http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/mytv/dvr) page. Again, at the bottom of the screen, there is a black ribbon. The right side of the screen identifies the cable box/TV that is being controlled. Mine is correctly set to “family room”. Under the label “DVR Manager”, there is a selection box. The choices I have are “master bedroom” and “family room”. The default value is “master bedroom”. If I select the alternative, leave the page and return, the selection returns to its default value “master bedroom”.

On the opposite side of the screen is a tag “DVR Settings”. Clicking that tag takes you to the “Manage Cable Boxes & DVRs” screen (http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/mytv/cable-boxes). On this screen, there is a button that identifies my “Master Bedroom” cable box as being default DVR. The DVR box is not attached to the master bedroom cable box/TV.

The screen does not give me the ability to select “family room” as being the default DVR.

Re: wrong cable box identifed as default dvr

A technician walked me thru a temporary solution that works for me.

Click f5 to refresh my browser cache.

Then, at the bottom of the screen, there is a black ribbon. The right side of the screen identifies the cable box/TV that is being controlled. Regardless of what it says, set it to the cable box/TV that you desire to control. Now, its content is all that matters.
