I've been thru the facts and meet the minimum requirements. any show I stream during watchathon if freezing for 2-5 seconds every minute or two. I have tried it in IE and Firefox, have eliminated my firewall and antivirus and still this problem. Not convincing me this is a service worth paying for. BTW, no problems with Hulu and Netflix, so definitely something in how comcast is streaming.
watchathon is not a service you pay for, comcast is giving people access to on demand content for free, you always have had the ability to watch anything you pay for on your computer. It seems comcast underestimated the amount of people that would trying to stream and the system gets overloaded.
Uhm, I understand that watchathon is a free promo. Unfortunately, the freezing problem results in this "promo" being a negative endorsement. It also sends folks searching on line and there you find this problem is not just because of current "overload" but an ongoing problem at Comcast. You shot yourself in the foot.
Judging from the number of posts you have made, you must work for comcast. I should hope your broadband is not freezing, because then both xfinity tv and cable broadband would not be working from "your" company.
Silver "problem" solver, thanks for bumping this along. Your lack of solution confirms the above links
please look at other topics in forum...esp. lots of problems watching episodes online.. video has been choppy for other customers also-not getting resolved.
Be careful of rog123456, the guy is worse than actual Comcast reps...at least the reps get paid to spread misinformation and waste your time. If you've reset your system and cleared your browser then you're pretty much past his expertise level. Sorry to be snarky but the guy is useless and frustrating.
The stuttering/pausing problem has been going on for months as the multiple threads about it attest. I called customer support about it and demanded reimbursement. I got 3 free months of a premium channel ($20 per month the problem has affected me) for my efforts. The only "official" word we've heard is that they are working with Adobe to solve the problem, but that was months ago and no update or solution has been given.
