Re: reference code S0a00

Same problem here. Started with a local power outage, but the non-dvr box I have has not recovered. I think it's a Motorola (non obvious manufacturer label), but the model number on the bottom is: PR150BNM. Any ideas on how to reset/resuscitate?

"One Moment Please" messages are generated by the cable box when the signal for the channel you are trying to watch is not usable. This might be because of incorrect account settings at Comcast or a bad box, but is most likely due to a poor connection between the box and Comcast's network. With digital service the picture doesn't slowly become more and more snowy like it did with analog. Instead, tiny changes in signal strength and/or noise level can cause channels to go from a good picture to a bad picture to no picture.

Troubleshoot by checking all connectors and looking for damaged coax cable. Running the cable through a surge protector can cause signal problems as well.

If you can't find the problem, call them at the phone number on your bill or 1-800-Comcast and ask them to check the account setup. If they can't fix the problem during the phone call have them send a tech out to identify the cause and correct it. If the tech finds bad coax, splitters, or connections in your home you'll probably have to pay for the visit unless you have their Service Protection Plan (http://www.comcast.com/spp/, about $4/mo). If the trouble is due to a faulty Comcast cable box/DVR or anything outside, you shouldn't be charged.

Re: reference code S0a00

Thanks, BruceW. Before writing my post, I had done all the troubleshooting and even used the Comcast interactive voice troubleshooting service to get a "refresh" signal sent to the box. When that didn't work, I gave up and worked my way through Comcast's defensive perimeters to reach a live rep. After I gave her the serial number of the box, she was able to send a signal which restored the box to full functionality within 5 minutes. The whole process of troubleshooting and navigating the phone system took about 45 minutes, but I count myself lucky that it got resolved that quickly.

It's inexcusable that they make what should be a simple diagnosis and recovery so complicated and time consuming, for sure. But I'm glad you stuck with it and got it worked out!
