no sound just pulses while attempting video playback

no sound just pulses while attempting video playback

While attempting to watch a video on xfinity.tv, I can see the video however the sound is just a bunch of pulses..

 

this is the info from my acct.  The only thing I can see is it claims I do not have the move media player.  I've gone searching for this and have not been able to find it.  The videos play which lends me to think this is an audio thing.  Everything works fiine on my wifes lap top.  But my computer doesnt.  Tried Windows 7 IE8 and Google Chrome. 

 

Been trying to live chat for awhile but no response.

What video(s) are you trying to watch?

 

Try testing out a few youtube videos. How is the sound of those videos?

All other videos (Hulu, Youtube, etc.) play fine.  I figured out I can actually play some of the videos (mostly NBC originated ones) on the PC; however, not all videos.  None of the videos from HBO play.

and yes we have a subscription ot HBO.  The HBO videos play fine it is just the sound that doesn't work.

I noticed on Showtime videos (which we do not have a subscription to) there is a key indicating it is locked and subscription required....no such thing on the HBO videos.

Try using a different web browser and let me know if it works. This is not a permanent solution but it will help us narrow down your issue.

Joe I tried Google Chrome to no avail.  BTW...HBOGO works fine.  I'll download fire fox and try again

tried Chrome and Firefox...same issue

Xfinitytv on firefox prompted upgrade of flash which I did

same issue on IE, Chrome and Firefox

cleared cache and cookies...same issue

Hello Comcast Joe....any suggestions?

BTW - I just confirmed I have silverlight 5 and Windows 7 with SP1 installed.

Getting more and more frustrated everyday.....

I have tried many videos and have found no audio issues.

 

Can you please send me the links of the videos you are trying to watch. I would like to further look into this.

not sure you have been paying attention.

The videos work fine on our account on other computers...laptops etc

My home computer does not.  It is Windows 7 which is different from the others.

If it works on other computers, then it is a sound issue with you Windows 7 machine. Try going here to see if you can find out what is causing this:
