blue light on tv

blue light on tv

when my tv is shut, a blue blotch is in the middle of the tv but eventually fades.  a service rep asked me once if there was a blue light but i had called about another issue and forgot to follow uip and ask about the blue light.

 

i want to give the tv to a young couple, but if the tv is going, i won't give it to them.  if it's a cable problem that can be fixed through comcast, i'll give it to them.

 

thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Spellnut,

 

The issue you describe can't be fixed with a cable swap from Comcast. Sorry to say but if there is a blue blotch on your TV after you turn it off, the TV is probably going bad or might have some "burn in".  Is it a flat screen model (thin) or one of the older, bulkier TV's?

 

The blue light that the service rep asked about during a previous call was probably in reference to the Comcast set-top box power light.
