adding channels

My tv says when I try to go to 850 "you are subscibed to this channel, go to Xfininty.com to activate it"  I can find where and how I do that.

Call into Comcast at 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and speak with a CSR about activating the channel.

Re: adding channels

is that the only soultion, to call customer service?  if so, can that be updated so we don't waste time trying to find the right place the on screen message  tells us to go to?  (example:  subscribe to OUTSD included with subscription to watch this program, you'll need to add this channel to your lineup.  please go to xfinity.com and select my account to update your services.)  i've wasted a fair amount of time trying to find where to look after going to myaccount (so not helpful of a message) only to find out in help and support forum that you need to call customer service.  it would be much better customer service to put that message onscreen.  i bet they wouldn't get so many complaints regarding their customer service if they were forthright with how to fix a problem in the first place.  if i can fix it myself, that is what i prefer.  if i can't, tell me so i don't continue trying to figure it out.  how hard is that?
