Xfinity X1 TV app is showing "Out of home" even though I'm on my home network

    There is nothing you can do, I am sending your account information over to our engineers to have your IP address renewed.  This might take 48-72 hours if it does not resolve itself.

I just changed my router to a new upgraded version and now I'm having the same problem with not in-home. Chad, would you be able to fix my configuration to accommodate the new router?

   Your configuration looks fine, are you still seeing this issue?  If yes, can you try connecting directly to the modem with a laptop and visit xtv.comcast.net to see if your still having the issue.

Im in Marietta, GA and I cannot access with tablet, phone, or PC...this is no bueno. I have tried to reset all devices and re-register the accounts on all devices with no luck. Is there an outage?

It working now...but not with Chrome...I think its the dreaded flash issue...is there a fix for the Chrome browser issue yet? I have read that there are problems between Chrome and the good folks at Adobe...but this could be rumor.

DOn't know if this will help but my CHROME required a FLASH PLAYER update just yesterday,..... suggest you travel to Adobe.com and see if your FLASH is up to date....upgrade it if it needs to be and report back you success or failure...

I'm having this problem too, the app was working on my iPad for the first few days of having the X1 system and then suddenly stopped. I have tried reinstalling the app several times to no avail.

   Looks like the rate codes fell off your account, sending your account to our customer servcie team.

It's doing it again. It worked that afternoon and started saying I'm out of home again that night. It's really frustrating.

This just started happening on both my iPad Mini and iPhone 6. It worked just a few days ago but can't do anything to fix it. Waiting 2 or 3 days for and X1 specialist to call me back? Ugh.

I used it last night just fine. It was working great the last 2 weeks. Hopefully they get it back up soon. I really love this feature.

me 2. i do contract work at home on nights. used to be able to have the hockey game on the second monitor while i coded. been broken for more than a month now. ALL calls to tech support have failed. we just have to go through their stupid scripts again - "sure i can help you with this" and it ALWAYS ends in "i don't know what i'm doing". I currently have 3 cable modems on my account - one is a duplicate of my comcast one w/ a different cmac that some "tech support" obviously screwed up on. they can't even figure out how to remove that. i'd like the modem i bought myself removed as well since i was able to self-activate the internet, but 5 hours of tech support couldn't figure out how to transfer the voice (amazingly when i plugged the original modem back in the voice immediately worked - they DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING! - how am I going to spend 5 hours telling you my cmac for the new modem and then plugging in the old modem w/ a different cmac immediately works?!?!?).

 

i just want a # to call to talk to someone tech-savvy. as a developer, that's the most maddening thing about comcast. all of the tech support doesn't know what they're talking about. =(

Did you just update your app?  I noticed that mine worked yesterday as well, there was an App update today that was loaded and now it won't work for me.  Continues to tell me that I'm not on my home network.

Comcast tech, can you please investigate why I continue to receive the "Out of Home" indicators on my wireless devices, even though I am connected to my high speed AC network? I'm using my own surfboard modem w/ the latest Apple Extreme Wireless base station. I've been having this "Out of Home" issue regularly. Comcast receives a significant amount of cash from me each month as a customer; this is not the type of experience I should be stuck with. Please help because the stupid Comcast phone tree is a real PITA to actually connect to the appropriate tech person. Thanks.

i'm new to xfinity just downloaded the tv app and also showing out of home while connected to network. Power cycled router , used different device and changed households plenty of times and still nothing. what are my options now?

This is a promised feature of my Xfinity service. I depend upon it no less than phone, internet or Set Top Box delivered TV. It seems this kind of thing always happens when you need it most I use this app every morning with head phones so as not to wake up my family when it works which it usely only works when I don't Comcast has come with many other problems as well and I my self had better services elsewhere not say who but I despise having to record everything just to be able to pause it while watching it however you can pause live tv and I know this is irrelevant to this matter but you can only do it in 1 room with my last cable and internet provider I could do that in any room and I could also watch YouTube though my set top cable box I myself can't wait tell my contract ends and there internet always lags where I live making the switch was not one of best ideas ...PixiAngel

For the 3rd time in two weeks the Tv app once again does not work and claims I'm not in my home network. Tech support has been of no help. There has to be some ongoing reason for this problem as the two fixes I've had here have lasted for no more than 3-4 days then the problem returns. I am on the verge of cancelling X1 surface as the TV app was probably the number 1 reason I switched to this service. Any help/explanation of the problem would be greatly appreciated.

I am on the verge of cancelling X1 surface as the TV app was probably the number 1 reason I switched to this service. Any help/explanation of the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. It's working again but my concern is it's going to fail again in a day or two. I've had 3 failures in the past 2 weeks and you are the only Comcast person I've dealt with who seems to know how to fix it - or even understands what I'm talking about for that matter. Even so, the fixes have been temporary. There has to be an underlying problem here and I'm really hoping it can be fixed for good. Do you have any idea if the problem is on my end or not?

I have had X1 for a few weeks now and I'm very underwhelmed.  I am now getting this problem.

 

I am so sick and tired of comcast customer service.  The customer service has gotten unbearable in the last year.

I have a Note 4, Ipad, and my desktop computer and I am getting the "Out of Home" message on all of them.  For the desktop I tried the website xtv.comcast.net.  Can I please get some help getting this resolved? @ComcastChad

Same issue; was watching in the middle of an NBA game and it gave out.  Did all the usual stuff (reboot, clear cache, etc.) but no dice.

I'm having the same problem. The app worked in the past, but I hadn't tried it in several months. It seems the app had been updates as I had to log in again. Now I get the "Out of Home" error on 4 separate devices. Any help?

Same with me. This company and their applications are just horrible. I HATE being a BETA tester. It is crazy that a company this big cannot get their sh*t together. It is so embassing.
