I am sorry you're having issues with XFINITY Remote App. I investigated a little further and you're of our X1 subscribers so that particular app will not work with your account.
To schedule recordings when you're not home what you want to do is use the X1 XFINITY TV App. Here is the link to all of our apps:

I am sorry for the delay in response to your post. The X1 XFINITY TV App is available for download everywhere but you would need to have X1 Platform services with Cloud and Streaming. Those last two features are not available nationwide at this point.

At this point we do not have an estimated lauch date for your area but keep checking your mail or bill for a notice regarding when it would be. We are letting our customer know through this format.

Since you do not have cloud services available in you area yet, you can use the DVR Manager, which you can access from your phone or tablet, however there is no separate app for non-cloud areas.
The X1 XFINITY TV Remote app allows you to control you X1 cable boxes from anywhere and also has voice search but cannot set recordings.
