Xfinity TV player for Kindle stopped

Xfinity TV player for Kindle stopped

I downloaded the XfinityTV player for my Kindle Fire HD (8.9 inch, software ver 8.4.6), and was able to download a couple of movies.  However, it stopped in the middle of one download with a message "player has stopped".  I removed the app from my device and cloud, then reinstalled.  I still only get "player has stopped" when I try to do anything.

Any ideas?
