X1 Remote App Not Detecting Cable Boxes

Hi, is anyone else having issues with the new X1 Remote App for the iPhone?  It wont detect the new cable box.  Could this possibly be because of the new iOS 6 and it just hasnt updated?  Anyone with additional info or same results would be great.

very few people have the x1 box it is just in the testing phase.  Maybe someone from comcast will chime in.

Any updates on this?  Havent heard anything.  Love everything about the cable box so far, except for the remote app.  Appreciate any assistance.

Not only that, I have tried to make it with another user who has it working, but:

 

  • The app won't let me log out
  • Not even deleting the app will clear out user data

 

I'm stuck because of this, I can't even switch user with this app, can you believe that??

Are you using a X1 box and using the X1 app?

I am having the same exact problem with the X1 remote app "No X1 cable boxes were found". For equipment I have a (2) PACE PR150BNM and a PACE PX001ANM. I have spoken to xfinity reps 3 times and nobody has been able to help.  I also can't log out of the app even after deleting and reinstalling it. I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 6.0.1. Thoughts?

I'm having a similar problem.  My app sees my box, but I am only able to get it to do one thing... launch On Demand.   But once in that menu I can not move around unless I pick up my other remote.

In the bold part above, the app is working as it is suppose to. The app will bring up the On Demand listing but you still must confirm the purchase with the silver Comcast remote. Since you can access your app from anywhere, this feature has not been included as a security measure. We will take adding a confirmation button under consideration going forward.

 

Also, are you not able to change the channels on your X1 box through the app?

I just had X1 installed on Saturday and I'm having the same problem as Chewy. On the X1 App some of the buttons do not function, like changing channels on the iPhone or iPad. Dies anyone know of a fix for this problem?

No, I'm not able to change channels.  

 

Literally the ONLY thing that does anything is launch On Demand from the Shortcut list..  Once in there I can't navigate around with the arrow keys.   None of the other shortcuts work.

 

The Xfinity button doesn't do anything either.

Hi ComcastJoe, I just got the X1 service install today. I'm in the SF Bay Area. And can't get the X1 app to detect my X1 new boxes. What can I do?

The regular Xfinity TV app should be avilable, but the additional one for X1 specifically is still in the works: http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/29/comcast-x1-remote-app-voice-commands/

How hard can it be to port it from iOS to Android?  I've seen post from June saying it should be out in 30 days and we're now in August.  I have X1 being installed on 8/13.  Hopefully they have it out for Android by then.

am having the same problem.  I have the X1 box PA PX001ANC and am able to see it in the app.  My other three boxes-PACE PR150BNC- do not show in the app.  Any idea how to make them show up?  Other than that X1 is awesome.

I called Comcast and the App is only for iPad or iPhone!! I tried downloading on iPad and like everyone els it won't detect boxes.

I'm having a similar issue... The X1 Remote App and Xfinity TV Remote only recognize the secondary box not the main DVR box... Did you ever get a resolution to your issue? Thanks!

Obvisously I have the same problem, but from the dates that I see, this problem has been an issue for a long time with Comcast doing absolutely nothing. May I suggest pulling the false commercial and also the app. I am a pure Apple person and I thought Microsoft was bad. Guess what Comcast !!!!!!!

I'm having the same problem. iPhone App won't detect X1 box. Crazy that this has been going on in some cases for almost a year and no reveal on what the issue is or how to fix. Only "you must call this number."

I have lost all control through iPhone app. Also the favorite name for the boxes is not showing on the iPhone app and my wife's doesn't work either so it is definitely a Comcast hardware issue.

Spent 2 hours on phone with tech support who could do neither

Hi all,

 

It can take up to 24 hours after installation for your X1 box to sync with the X1 Remote App.

 

If it has been over 24 hours, please let me know.

It has been over 3 weeks. Replaced app twice and everything thing else that I would do with an app.

I am having the same problem (or similar) as everyone else.  My X1 Remote app was working, until I transferred services to my new address.  If I go to the X1 Remote site online, I can see my settings just fine.  But on the iPhone (and iPad), nada, nothing.  I have tried un-installing several times, un-installing and rebooting the phone, un-installing all Comcast apps (Xfinity Connect, Xfinity Home) on all devices, then re-installing, still nothing.  The boxes themselves have updated since the move, but still nothing.  This is becoming more and more increasingly frustrating, as the app used to work.  Is there some other way to get this app to see the boxes?  Thanks!

I have lost the location labels that were previously displayed on the X1iohine app, now they just indicate a generic 1,2,3 instead of media room and LR etc? you mentioned you "If I go to the X1 Remote site online, I can see my settings just fine.", just wondering where you go inline to confirm the X1remote site?

I too am expericing the same issue.  Comcast seems to not care.  So now not only can I not use the X1 app, I can't use the old app to set recordings when I'm not home.  I understand that X1 is still new, but these types of bugs should have already been worked out before marketing the new service.  It's frustrating that Comcast is heavily marketing this and even featuring the X1 app on their commercials to a product that doesn't work for all customers that have X1.  I've called in multiple times, have been disconnected, transferred, told wrong department, told someone would call, etc.  Very frustrating for the customer Comcast!!

Just had X1 installed and when trying to use the iPhone app but it says it can't find the box.  Asked the installer while he was here and his answer was "I have no idea"!  Some help would be nice.

Same issue for me, installed a new cable box two days ago and it does not appear on my Xvinitiy Remote App on my iPad. I'm not X1, just two standard cable boxes.

 

Motorola DCT700, which does show up in the remote app and

Motorola PR150BNMR (tthe new one) which does not show up

 

Appreciate any help anyone could offer, and maybe someone could post the solution?

3 weeks waiting for resolution on this issue, perhaps an IOS7 issue but it started prior to IOS update being done on iPhone.
The level of customer service is very poor.

Same problem. IOS 6 and 7. Iphone and ipad 2 and 3.

I cant begin to describe how poor customer service is. Ill soon be writing complaints to the FCC, DOJ, and my senators, and congressmen.

Further I will be setting up a Facebook page dedicated to comcast customer service or lack of. I suggest you all do the same. ,

Lost control of my two terminals for about a week and then they came back. Lost the location names of the terminals a week prior to IOS 6 and have not been recovered. Say they are working on it...don't hold your breath.

I have the X1 with 3 hubs the app can see the 3 hubs but not the DVR 

I have log in to DVR Manger and dvr settings and used show name on TV 3 boxes show the name but the dvr does not and I can't control the dvr from the app

 

The app worked on the dvr before it was replace do to recording issues

There is a new app for the X1 boxes, you don't use the old app anymore.  Depending on the device, you should go to the store and do a search for Xfinity X1 remote.

I finally called Comcast on this a few weeks ago and was told that they would reset my account nothing happened so I called back 4 days later asked and was told that there was a nation wide outage I'm guessing she just didn't want to deal with it.

I'm still waiting

3 - hubs work in dvr manager

1 - X1 DVR does not work or respond to the dvr manager

 

There has to be someone to call to get this fixed has to be something to do with the account
