Why can't I cancel online

Why can't I cancel online

This website is not very good, I can't cancel anything online. But I can add new services online. This only serves to infuriate paying customers. I am tempted to stop using Comcast based on this. There is a good reason why Comcast was voted the worst companies for customer service. This is one of those reasons.

Cancellations or downgrading of services requires a customer to either visit a Service Center in person or call into Comcast at 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 at which time your account will be verified to ensure that the primary account holder is the one requesting the downgrande or cancellation.   This is done to prevent malicious actions by other than the primary account holder.

You could complain, at, e.g., ecare@comcast.com.

 

However, I think it has reached the point where it would be more effective to take a moment and contact your local Congress critter at:

 

http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

 

and politley ask them them why, since Comcast gets access to the public right of way, why they think that Comcast should be treated differently than your local electircal or water utilities; since most of us have about the same degree of choice in terms of providers of these services.
