When streaming live video on my iMac, shouldn't my X1 service be acting as a DVR on iMac as well?

When streaming live video on my iMac, shouldn't my X1 service be acting as a DVR on iMac as well?

How are you? the meaning of my question is, if i go to guide, pick a show, start watching, should it be basically the same as when i am watching a show on my DVR equipped TV's? Having the ability to rewind, pause, etc.? if my question is to vague, i can add more details. Allows on recorded programs, and inconsistently with on-demand programs. I hope this is enough info for someone to help, thank you in advance.

(1) X1 Main Box DVR hub

(2) additional HD DVR boxes (newer smaller version)

Wireless gateway-modem, newer version for X1 platform

iMac 27" 2 years old, basically no content on system, so runs excellent

You are streaming the show, so you are not being able to use the DVR's time shift buffer as this isn't available online, only on the physical DVR.  If this isn't a sufficient answer, please post back the additional details to isolate the issue(s) and address them.
