Unable to view TV shows online

Unable to view TV shows online

I am able to watch shows online for the major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS), but when I try to watch a show particularly on AMC, History, and A&E I am unable to do so.  This just started this week, the message says that I need to login and need a subscription to that station which I do.  When I try to login nothing happens?  Why am I able to watch the shows on the major networks and that's it?

Can you paste into a word document and then attach it?

The attach photo button is to the right of the bold, italics, and underline buttons on the toolbar; above the text box. It is ten buttons to the right of the bold button.

Make sure that you are signed in with your Comcast.net e-mail address or Comcast ID. If you are not signed in or are signed in with a non-Comcast account, our site will not be able to verify your subscriptions.

Also, try installing the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight (version 5) and then try watching videos again:

Re: Unable to view TV shows online

I am signed into Comcast with my ID and have Silverlight v5.  I still get prompted to Sign In, even though I already am, when I select a show that is not on a majot network.  When I select a show on lets say AMC it has the "Lock" symbol, not sure why as this is part of the standard cable package?

Hmmm strange. I have our team looking into your account now. I will let you know when it is fixed or if I have an update.

Is AMC working on your TV?

Thanks Joe.  Yes all channels work fine on the TV, just online where I'm experiencing the issue.

We are seeing no issues with your account.

Can you private message me the log-in you are using? You can private message me by clicking ComcastJoe and on the right of that page it will say "Send this user a private message".

Have you tried any other log-ins besides the one you sent me? If so, do they work?

Also, A&E and History should not be locked at all. Are they showing orange keys? I am signed out and can watch these videos.

Try signing out and then see if A&E and History have orange keys.

Re: Unable to view TV shows online

That actually worked.  Can you try a show on AMC or Discovery, can't get anything from those networks to run.

Can you please send us a screenshot of the screen you are seeing the orange keys at?

Go here to learn how and either a) paste it in your post or b) paste it in Paint, save it, and then attach the file.

Please go to www.xfinitytv.com/computer and copy the information you see on-screen and paste it in this thread so we can further assist you.

EDIT: Wrong link used

The link you sent to show how to paste didn't work.  The error I see is a states below, no screenshot is required.  Along with this text I get a orange lock symbol, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.  Are there any other specifics you need to know?

Re: Unable to view TV shows online

I know how to copy and paste, I thought here was something you need to do on this site specifically.  I do not have the option to paste  when replying to you.  And I do not see where to attach a file?

Are orange keys being shown all throughout the site or are they green and then when you try playing them, an orange key pops up?

It works in Firefox.  Possibly an issue with IE9?

Re: Unable to view TV shows online

I am also having the same issue.  This has nothing to do with the browser I'm using, so please don't recommend that.

Something changed on Comcast end.  This worked fine last week with nothing changing on my system.

Re: Unable to view TV shows online

We're having the same issue too.  Of note in "My Xfinity Profile" it seems like it's unable to load my "Account Number" and "Primary User ID" in the Profile Snapshot section.  It just sits there at [Loading...] for both.  Maybe there's a communication issue with Xfinity online with accessing account info and as a result it's unable to load subscriptions?

Re: Unable to view TV shows online

So I don't know what happened.  But it's working fine now.  The orange lock key icon is no longer there.  I didn't update or change anything on my PC.

I can only assume that the "Watch Now" section and my acount were not syncing up correctly.  And now they are.

Re: Unable to view TV shows online

This may be new topic but couldn't find a button that let's met start. I have watched for the past couple of years my favorite news shows, like MSNBC, free with only an Xfinity subscription.  As of Jan 1, I am now locked out of many of my evening series shows and more particularly disappointing, I can no longer watch MSNBC new shows. I have no TV and no cable subscription not do I want one. It's just unaffordable. Has Comcast now cut me off so I have to pay for cable when I don't have a TV? I'm guessing it's Comcast and not the TV station that now requires payment for watching.
