The commercials are torture

The commercials are torture

This problem just started the past few days but when I stream a program on Xfinity TV to Go the programs themselves play perfectly but the commercials only play in one or two second bursts and then freeze for a few minutes, another one or two seconds of play and then another freeze. I kid you not, a 30 second commercial might take at least 15 minutes to play and probably more. This makes the stream unwatchable since the commercials take way longer to play than the program itself. There's nothing that I can do about this problem other than stop watching and wait for a fix. It was all working so well last week.

 

Is someone working to resolve this?

I can get a ticket opened with our Ad Tech team if one isn't already. Did you see this behavior while watching live TV or On Demand, or both? Did it occur only on certain programs or channels, or all of them?

Correction: this is a On Demand program I'm watching and it possibly could be limited to The Orville episode 7. I'm not on the Xfinity network when I try this but then I've never had the problem before.

Most likely related to the ad load, not the WiFi/cellular network. Thank you for the info—will get a ticket opened.

I agree that it is related to the ad load and probably isn't a Xfinity issue per se. I have no idea how that works, I just want it to flow smoothly.

Is happining to me too. Last week was ok, started this week. Is impossible to watch, to many commercials. Can that be fixed?

Well I gave up on trying to view The Orville on the PC. I did have the same problem when trying to watch The Gifted via the work PC. The programs play without a problem but once I hit a commercial I have to stop watching because they play only a few frames per minute and there's no way to bypass them. I don't have the issue if I watch a program that's already been recorded at home.

Well I did have it happen one time since posting when viewing The Gifted. I believe that this may be a Hulu issue because their logo appears at the bottom of the screen when this happens. I don't know what their affiliation is with Comcast.

Ok, please send me a private message by clicking on my name, "ComcastChe" then click private message me. In the body of this message please verify the first and last name of the account holder, the phone number, street address, and the account number associated with your services. I want to check one other thing on the back end to ensure you are no longer affected by the issue we were having, but if you are seeing the Hulu icon at the bottom, then this may very well be an issue on their end.
