None of the Sister Wives episodes are closed captioned on the Xfinity website. This goes for other TLC shows as well as many USA and AMC shows. This is illegal under the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010. I have contacted Comcast about this before and they chose to ignore me. I have filed a complaint with the FCC and Comcast finally decided to contact me... by leaving me a voicemail. HELLO, I am deaf! The FCC dropped the complaint saying that Comcast tried to resolve the issue. What a bunch of baloney. Please just stop discriminating and fix this problem. Sooner or later you will have a lawsuit on your hands. For more info see this website:
I have alerted the appropriate team and we are further looking into this. I will update this thread when I have more details.
Also, Andrew, I should not have to go after anybody. Your reply made you sound very ignorant. This is not something I should have to work for, it should just be done. It is no longer a choice since the implementation of the new law, it is mandatory. Furthermore, the issue is not always with the network. For example, there are still some USA shows (covert affairs) that do not have closed captioning on the Xfinity website. I have not made a fuss about this because I can watch them elsewhere. Why would USA provide closed captioning to Hulu and on their own website, but not to Xfinity? Obviously in that situation the problem is with Comcast. But it appears they have done some work on the TLC shows and I am very happy about that
All Sister Wives episodes now have CC.
As for USA shows, this is a known issue that our team is working on now. Hopefully this will be fixed shortly.
Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience,
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate the improvements that have been made. How soon after a new episode airs can I expect it to be captioned? I am still waiting on the one from two days ago, I will check back tomorrow.
