Shows Will Not Launch

When I select an Xfinity TV show or movie to watch on my computer, the application obtains authorization and then delivers a message that says "starting playback." Unfortunately, that is as far as things go. The "starting playback" message remains and the show never launches.

 

I am using Vista Home 64 bit, IE-9, and Silverlight-5.

Please try using Firefox 8.0 or Safari 5.1 and see if videos work. We been having some issues with Google Chrome 16 and IE-9. This is not a permanent solution but it will help us narrow down your issue.

I have the same problem.I cannot lunch xfinity video player on my laptop.It stop at starting playback. completely frozen.That is as far it could go.

 Installed Firefox 8.0 and videos now play. Do you think the Microsoft updates (hot fixes) that were installed on 12/14/11 has something to do with IE9 not playing videos? My problem started on 12/15/11.

We sent out fixes for Google Chrome 16 and IE9. Please try playing videos again and let me know the results.

The fix didn't work for my IE9. All I get now is Starting playback then those little LEDs underneath freeze. Update: AMC series H3LL On Wheels won't play (freezes) but...Gunsmoke plays...go figure.

Mine started  on 12/22/2011. How did you solve yours? it 's ennoying. No video at all

I am using Safari 5 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 with Silverlight 5 and have the same issue.

I downloaded Firefox and am able to watch with no problems. Still will not work with Safari 5 tho

Make sure you have the most up to date version of Safari installed.

 

Also, try disabling any ad blocking software you may have and then try watching videos again.
