Premium Channel Fix - 12/18/11

I have recently had trouble watching HBO, Tru TV, TBS, Discovery, etc. As I'm sure many people are having as well.

 

Anyways, this is what I did:

 

  • Install CCleaner (x86- or x64-bit version accordingly)
  • Open CCleaner and "Analyze"
  • Once "analyzed", click "Run Cleaner"
  • Your cache / cookies and other goodies should be cleaned from your browser(s) and computer
  • Also, go ahead and clean your registry, fix all errors when it asks

This worked for me, I am typing this from Firefox, and am usually a Chrome user. Anyways, no more annoying orange key or 45 minute chats with 5 different Comcast reps.

Worked great the first time but after one show it's back to not working.

 

Originally was using IE. Downloaded Chrome as many had suggested. Uninstalled my anitvirus. Cleaned my computer. Downloaded latest version of silverlight. Watched one show. Gave me an error message. Wish I wrote it down but was probably the same one many of you are getting. Uninstalled and restalled silverlight. Cleaned my computer again. Still not working.
