No DVR Manager via web anymore for non-X1 users

No DVR Manager via web anymore for non-X1 users

No longer able to to manager DVR from Xfinity website

.

.a) from: "http://my.xfinity.com"
.
.b) scroll down to the: "I Want To" area
.
.c) click on: "Manage My DVR"
.
.d) the attempted link is: "https://tv.xfinity.com/recordings"
.
.e) which then fails over to just: "https://tv.xfinity.com/"

.

I left out any formal request to turn this into a ticket; because, some nudge claims they don't submit tickets through forums, even though they do all the time (so just do the right thing, why don't you).

The fact remains, the longstanding ability to manage DVR via web has been ruined of late for anyone but, apparently, X1 users following some recent "tweak" or "fix" or "improvement" or whatever they want to call it.

Our equipment has not been given an imminent retirement date, and clearly could accept DVR management instructions from the web for years.  That a mistake (maybe?) took this a way, should be an occasion to fix the problem rather than make up excuses to not even acknowledge there is a problem.  To repeat an observation in another post:

"

The word is out that your policy is to treat every break, every bug, every failure as an excuse to insist that people switch over to X1.  That's the real reason you refuse to fix this.  [...]  Better leave it broken so we'll resign ourselves to switching to the only platform you want to support anymore.

X1 must be really terrible if you have to resort to extortion tactics to get people to choose it.

When you break something you should feel responsibility to fix it, so fix this problem !

Hi JSydney413,

DVR management via the web for non-X1 customers is no longer supported and there are no plans to change that in the future. The website was recently completely rebuilt and this feature was not included because of the complexity of supporting 12 different flavors of non-X1 set-top boxes and low usage compared to our mobile apps. The XFINITY TV Remote app for iOS and Android has a DVR Manager for both X1 and non-X1 subscribers so you should use that if it is an option for you.

X1 is amazing and most of our resources are devoted to developing this new platform with over 30,000 X1 installations every day. With X1 you can record up to 6 programs at once with 500 GB and 60 hours of Cloud DVR storage to watch your DVR shows from anywhere. It is a free or low cost upgrade if you are interested.

Best,

ComcastDan

If it makes the OP feel any better. X1 users don't really have a DVR manager either that is even close to the functionality of the old one.
