I cannot watch ANYTHING TV SERIES on Xfinity.com

I get this content might be unavailable or a network issue for everything  Even the most recent issue.

If I cannot get this to work I want a discount on my bill.  This is ridiculous.  I have had over 30 issues and 4 different house calls in the past two months because of Comcast related stuff

Spoke with a rep on the phone who says he did a reset, don't know if it will work.  Chat person was useless she reset my modem and now my caller ID for my TV doesnt work AGAIN.  Have to call Comcast back AGAIN.  Comcast you are ridiculous.

Yes these are both me.  I have been trying both email addresses to resolve the issue and nothing.

What version Windows are you using?

 

Also, Try using a different web browser and let me know if it works. This is not a permanent solution but it will help us narrow down your issue.

When you said "Issue still occurs in Explorer 7" I am assuming you have tried another browser and still had the same issues?

 

What exactly are you seeing when trying to play, for example, a HBO show ? An error message? Black screen? Stuck at a certain screen? Please be as specific as possible.

 

Do you have any other computers in your household? If so, do videos work on the other machines?

When you said "Issue still occurs in Explorer 7" I am assuming you have tried another browser and still had the same issues?

 

A.  I use Firefox 4 as my browser.  I tried Internet Explorer 7 and it still did not work

 

What exactly are you seeing when trying to play, for example, a HBO show ? An error message? Black screen? Stuck at a certain screen? Please be as specific as possible.

 

A.  This video is unavailable message.  It starts to play sound for a milisecond but then slides to a grey box and says video unavailable.

 

Do you have any other computers in your household? If so, do videos work on the other machines?

 

A.  I only have one computer in my home.  My neighbor tried her laptop on my network and it tells her unavailable.

The EXACT same thing is happening to me. Its been going on since at least Monday. Yesterday for a short period of time it worked and I was able to watch True Blood. Unfortunately, it started again. Comcast needs to get it together.

Since you are both having the issues with True Blood, can you tell me what specific episodes you are trying to watch. I want to see if specific episodes have issues.

 

Also, , what episode of Hoarders are you trying to watch?

Try uninstalling then reinstalling Microsoft Silverlight. Go here to learn how: http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/help/technical-support/xfinity-tv-player/#silverlight-reinstall

 

If that doesn't work, try using Firefox 3.6 web browser (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html) and see if videos work in that browser.

 

Also, do you have any anti-virus software installed? If so, make sure you are allowing xfinitytv.com and xfinity.com to pass through your firewall.

I've already removed and updated silverlight.  I also have no problems watching Netflix which uses it as well.

 

My anti-virus service has been updated and allowed xfinity.com and xfinitytv.com and issues still persist.

 

If I downgrade my broswer will I lose my bookmarks, add-ons and plug-ins for the current browser.  There is a huge difference between 3.6 and 4 and it's asking me to upgrade now to the most current firefox but I am delaying thay because I like this browser and it's options.

Make sure that DRM support is enabled in Silverlight. Go here to learn how:

If that doesn't work, disable all pop-up blockers on your anti-virus software then try playing an episode of True Blood. Then after you try playing it, if it works or not, turn your anti-virus pop-up blockers back on.

 

Pop-up blockers from strict anti-virus software sometimes conflict with ads playing. I understand Flash is working but it may be with just Silverlight only.

I have the same issue with Xfinity.  I cannot watch anything from comcast.  I am very frustrated. I've done everything that was recommended in this forum. I've called Comast and they were useless.  I don't have any problems with other streaming so it has to be Comcast. Did anyone have any luck fixing this? If so, please share. Thanks

After the hurricane came through MD and my internet was down for a few days it came back up and the videos are working fine now.  I don't know what the issue was but maybe it was as simple as restarting my computer, who knows.  I personally think the videos were glitched or broken on Comcast's side because I could watch some and not others.  I have had one instance of the error since the fix but came back later and it worked.

I'm having issues watching any videos or movies through Xfinitytv.com. I'm using the latest version of firefox and I keep getting "The silverlight plugin has crashed". Is Xfinitytv having server or bug issues because it's been FIVE days since it last worked.

 

 

HELP would be appreciated!!

I know I am no expert but try to turn off automatic addon update through firefox restart and try again.  That worked for me.  I was also having issues with other addons through firefox because of it.

I was using Internet Explorer so I just tried to view in Firefox. It works! I have been having issues with the Comcast site since the last upgrade. There have been problems with email and videos. I don't think IE is as compatable as FF.

I am glad it works in FF. That means you probably have plug-ins or add-ons in IE that are preventing videos from playing.

 

Try disabling any ad blocking plug-ins or add-ons in IE then try watching videos again.

Hey Comcast Joe,

 

I tried egyptianruin suggestion and it didn't work for me. I still get the error "Silverlight plugin crash"!

 

Comcast Joe can you please assist me with this issue so I can watch something this weekend, thank you!
