I also keep getting this error message. It is very frustrating as it will sometimes happen right in the middle of a movie and other times it won't let me start a show at all. I have contacted Comcast customer support 4 different times regarding this same issue and it has NEVER been resolved. I pay a lot for premium channels but it isn't worth it as I am NEVER able to watch my shows online. This problem definitely makes me think about switching to Direct TV.
The error is due to a Comcast software update that they have supposedly been working on since June 30th region by region but refuse to give details as to which region has been "worked on" and when my region will be "fixed."
During the interim, internet techs lie and blame the problem on Comcast Customer browsers, computer, etc went thru over 60 hours of reading articles, trouble shooting with the manufacturer of my computer, calling techs for advice and I hate to admit but was treated so outrageously and poorly by especially tier 2 techs that I finally demanded the address of Comcast Headquarters. None of the techs claimed to know the address or a contact phone #. I spoke to at least 10 different techs trying to get Comcast Headquarters.
Finally I spoke to a tech of integrity who told me the truth though he could not reveal when the problem would be solved. My Xfinity TV has been out 2 months now.
Too bad Comcast has the best product and such lousy ethics and ability to correct their own problems.
The bottom line:There is nothing you can do to fix the problem and your average tech will just lie to you and give you false information that will waste your time and money--"take your computer into the shop"etc,,,,,Comcast knows that in a court of law they would be liable for all the costs of unnecessary Customer expense from intentionally giving false information to Comcast Customers regarding this issue. Yet, they still refuse to give any information as to when the problem will be resolved. They obviously are not afraid of losing customers but lawsuits are a different matter. Let them know you know the truth and demand to speak to Comcast Headquarters. Even still, if you want online TV, you might want to switch providers. Xfinity online TV will not be available to most areas for a long time.
I always respected Comcast as a company of ethics and integrity. The way they have handled Xfinity online TV blows my mind.
The forum for the 900 error has a new link. The link is unavailable to me.Try it and let me know if you got the link to work. Maybe I am blacklisted for telling the truth.
I don't have the present time to sue them for my personal expense from taking my computer into the shop. It should not even come to that. But sadly, it seems to be the only way to get thru to Comcast @ this issue and as I repeat, no one will give a date when the problem will be resolved unless it is on the link unavailable to me.
Long reply but this problem has been going on a long time and continues with little hope in sight.
I have been tring to get to the bottom of this as well. Every tech I chat with or talk to has told me different things. From browser version issues to the internet connection, to the silverlight player and contract agreements with comcast and the video players.
What a bunch of liers!
What is the address for comcast headquarters I want to complain?
No one would ever give me a Comcast Headquarters Address. Really!
I got a call from a nice tech of integrity instead who told me @ the software update which they are now calling an "outage." I STILL DO NOT HAVE XFINITY ONLINE TV! IT HAS BEEN MONTHS NOW. NO ESTIMATE GIVEN AS TO WHEN THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WILL BE APPLIED TO MY AREA.
I REALLY THINK WE SHOULD GET TOGETHER AND JOINTLY SUE THEM. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY WE WILL GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED.
I DO HAVE A SUPPORT NUMBER THAT IS AWARE OF THE "OUTAGE."
HERE IS THE NUMBER TO CALL: 877-761-5015.
Let me know what they tell you.
The lying has to stop. Let them know @ all the lies you have been told.
I CAN'T WRITE YOUR NAME BUT DID GET YOUR E MAIL REPLY.
COMCAST WON'T LET ME REPLY TO YOUR REQUEST FOR THE PHILLY HEADQUARTERS ADDY.
THEY JUST DON'T CARE.
THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A NEAR MONOPLOLY AND THEY JUST DON'T CARE IF WE GO TO DRECT TV OR ANOTHER PROVIDER.
I SAY WE DEMAND ETHICAL TREATMENT AND GET TOGETHER TO SUE THEM. THEY JUST HOPE WE SEITCH PROVIDERS AND GO AWAY. I AM NOT LETTING THEM OFF SO EASLILY!!!!.SINCE COMCAST WON'T LET YOU GET THIS IN YOUR E MAIL, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL EVER SEE THIS.
MORE OF THEIR NEFARIOUS PLOT TO LIE,LIE AND DENY SERVICE.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU SAW THIS AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE PHILLY COMCAST CENTER ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. IT WON'T DO ANY GOOD. LAWSUITS ARE ALL THEY CAN GRASP. THE CUSTOMER IS NOT IMPORTANT. WE NEED TO SUE!
SO I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE FOR THE I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES WITH THE SAME ISSUE AS EVERYONE ELSE. OF COURSE, THEY TELL ME I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS THIS ISSUE AND IT IS MY COMPUTER. AFTER GOING UP THE SUPERVISOR CHAIN THEY TRANSFER ME TO SIGNATURE SUPPORT WHO NOW WANTS TO CHARGE ME $49.99 TO TRY TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM. I GUESS IT'S TIME TO CALL UVERSE
I know it makes you mad, I am mad... I've been wondering the same thing, but when people talk about suing others for something stupid I get even more mad. That is the problem with the world today, everyone wants something for nothing, and if they can't have it, sue for it. You pay for TV and internet, streaming TV and videos through comcast's website is a separate entity in itself which they offer for free with your subscription as a bonus. Not a requirement. I say get over yourselves, watch it on your TV not computer, or get a life. But don't blame them, things happen. I bet 99% of you couldn't tell me how the internet works, other than, "oh I plug in the modem, and open internet explorer", so get off your high horses and bear with them.
Nothing is for free. Thinking such is really stupid! The cost of Internet TV is included in the total amount paid for the internet.
I do have a life. It is stupid to assume I do not.
There are so many programs on Xfinity Internet TV that are not available on TV.Look at the product offered. I have been without it for 10 months but receive e mail advertisements from Comcast @ all the wonderful shows and movies being offered by Xfinity Internet TV and still without an estimated time when the product will be available to me. Now that is stupid. Please educate yourself @ the issue before making stupid comments. Get a life yourself!
You have no solution or helpful comments so why even comment?
I couldn't agree more. Noone gives anyone anything for free, especially Comcast. The money they charge, their services should work. They advertise on their home page to watch programs click here... but when we click. Nothing. it's bad enough it doesn't work, but then they lie to you when you try to get it fixed.
